Into Practice …

Doing Good …

Galatians 6:7-10 NLT

Don’t be misled-you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature.

But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone-especially to those in the family of faith.

Reflection …

Doing good. It’s a quality valued by many, Christians and non-christians alike.

We are to live to please the Spirit. That means we must depend upon Him every moment of every day. It means we must let Him lead and guide our attitudes and activities, what we say and where we go. If the Lord is our Shepherd, we not only feed on His Word and listen to His promptings, we obey them and do what is good.

Ephesians 2:8-10 says that we have been created to do good works, but in order for those good works to have any spiritual value, we must first believe and receive God’s gift of grace in Jesus Christ. Our faith needs nurturing daily.
