Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

The Lord says . . .

Isaiah 54:9-10 NLT

“Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you.

For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the LORD, who has mercy on you.

Reflection . . .

God’s mercy, His faithful love, His covenant of blessing will never be broken!

God’s has mercy on us! This beautiful truth leads us into this next week, well known as the Passion Week or Holy Week beginning tomorrow, Palm Sunday.

God’s mercy is great! As we enter this coming week, let’s consider these three attributes of God that are foundation to all that was to happen between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday:

  1. God is Love.
    • It was God’s love that motivated giving the ultimate gift of salvation in Jesus Christ.
  2. God is Faithful.
    • It was God’s faithfulness that kept on pursuing us to believe in Him despite the mockers, traitors, and violent ones.
  3. God is Merciful.
    • It was God’s mercy that made it possible for us to be invited back into relationship with Him.

God’s mercy is boundless, free, and through Jesus Christ our Lord, available to us now in our present situation.
