Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

Waiting . . .

Psalm 27:11-14 NLT

[11] Teach me how to live, O LORD. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me.

[12] Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I’ve never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence.

[13] Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.

[14] Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.

Reflection . . .

Waiting, waiting, waiting . . . As we come to this Second Sunday in Lent we focus on something important for us to learn, the process of waiting.

It’s such a hard thing to do, especially amidst so much uncertainty and many trials! Verse 11 poses the question to the Lord asking Him to “Teach me how to live.” Waiting is an important process that helps us, it builds character and strength.

Two things in these verses seem important in the process of waiting which builds character to be brave and courageous:

  1. Asking for the Lord’s guidance (vs.11)
  2. Declaring confidence in the Lord (vs. 13)

Let God have your life. He can do more with it than you can.
