Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

Let your light shine!

Luke 11:33-36 NLT

“No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness. Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness. If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.”

Reflection . . .

These verses give us a couple of things to think on.

  1. Let your light shine! Don’t hide the light that is within you!
    • God has given us a great light to shine out to the world. Let’s shine that light to others around us. That could be as simple as helping someone with a small task or praying for someone! It could be quite involved like dedicating time an effort regularly for someone else showing them God’s love! It’s not hard to focus our attention on others to be a blessing, it just takes some intentionality!
  2. Guard the light that is in you! Let the light in you expose and extinguish the dark things!
    • We have been blessed to be a blessing! The light of Jesus Christ is to be shared with others. If we refuse to be a blessing, we are unhealthy and only darkness is seen by others. If we choose to be a blessing, we are healthy and light shines to the darkest corners of our lives and to others who will see Jesus in us!

Choose to be a blessing! Shine your light!

Choose to be healthy! Share the light within you!
