Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

1 Thessalonians 5:15-22 NLT

[15] See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people.

[16] Always be joyful.

[17] Never stop praying.

[18] Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

[19] Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.

[20] Do not scoff at prophecies,

[21] but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.

[22] Stay away from every kind of evil.

Reflection . . .

During this Advent Season, we focus on celebrating the coming of Christ as a baby that first Christmas, we also focus on His coming or return, His second coming. As we prepare, this passage helps us focus on the things we should be focusing on or not focusing on in our waiting.

Do good. Be joyful. Always pray. Be thankful. Pay attention to the Holy Spirit and true prophecies. Test all things that are said, and don’t just believe what’s out there. Hold true to the good. Resist evil!
