Reflecting on God’s Word …

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 NLT
[1] When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. [2] For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. [3] I came to you in weakness-timid and trembling. [4] And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. [5] I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.

Christ Crucified!

It’s the wisdom of God and the power of God! There’s no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to come to God except through Jesus Christ. The message of the Gospel is the message of the cross, it was God’s secret plan, the mystery that was revealed to us and for us in order to give glory to God. He was crucified on our behalf in order to deal with sin.

The glory of God rests in the work of Christ and his exaltation! What an incredible mystery and plan for us to be a part of!
