Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

Colossians 3:1-4 NLT
[1] Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

[2] Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.

[3] For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

[4] And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Reflection . . .

We must fix our eyes, our thoughts on the things of heaven, not of earth!

Verse 3 tells us exactly what that means. It means we are no longer living for earthly/fleshly things, our life is hidden with Christ in God! Wow! That is amazing!

We died to this life! When we believed in Jesus Christ and decided to follow him, we said that the things of this world, the things of this life were no longer worth living for. We now have a hope that is far superior to all that this world has to offer. We have Jesus Christ, his spirit living within us! We have a new vision, a new hope who is Jesus Christ, not just a cause to put our efforts into.

A man with the vision of God is not devoted simply to a cause or a particular issue but to God himself.
