Ephesians 5:15-20 NLT
[15] So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.
[16] Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
[17] Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
[18] Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
[19] singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
[20] And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Reflection . . .
Don’t be foolish! Make the most of every opportunity!
There are two ways: The Foolish way & The Wise way.
We’ll focus on the Wise Way because to not follow it is foolish.
The Wise Way is to do the following:
- Make the most of every opportunity
- Act thoughtfully
- Understand the Lord’s will
- Be filled with the Holy Spirit who gives strength and power, not with alcohol
- Sing using all kinds of ways to make music to the Lord in your heart
- Give thanks for everything to God through Jesus Christ
What a great list! If we focus on these things in life, we’ll be well on our way to experiencing an abundant life in Jesus Christ!
