Reflecting on God’s Word …

Psalm 100:1-5 NLT

[1] Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth!

[2] Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy.

[3] Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

[4] Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.

[5] For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

Reflection

This Psalm is a favorite of many people. There’s so much that we can draw from it! Today we are going to consider just three points that will help us in our worship of the Lord.

1. We are to worship the Lord with gladness (Vs. 2). Joy and gladness change our attitude and our disposition. These changes in us bring glory to God and gladness to Him.

2. We are to acknowledge that the Lord is God (Vs. 3). In our worship, placing Him above all things is most important. Seeing Him as our creator changes our outlook on everything, we are His, not our own.

3. We are to give thanks (Vs. 4). Thankful people are a joy to be around and they focus on the good! Through thanksgiving to God, we enter into the place where we can give praise to Him.

Why? Why are we to do these things in worship? Because He is Good!
