Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

Deuteronomy 11:18-21 NLT
“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors.

Reflection . . .

This command that the Lord gave his people was to help them remember all the instructions he had given them and the manner in which they were to instruct their children for future generations. Today we see the same neglect happening. Christian parents are neglecting to teach their children the Word of God. They are neglecting to talk about it at home, on the road, before bedtime and in the morning. The command is for us to use every opportunity to instruct and discuss the things of the Lord, ultimately so that they may dwell in the blessing of the Lord.

Are you feeling blessed by the Lord? If not, focus on God’s Word and begin sharing it with your family or with friends and neighbours! God’s Word is to be shared, discussed and given every opportunity to pass through our minds and sink deep into our hearts so that our lives are filled with His Word in every aspect and practice of life.
