Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

Psalm 104:24-32 NLT

[24] O LORD, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures.

[25] Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small.

[26] See the ships sailing along, and Leviathan, which you made to play in the sea.

[27] They all depend on you to give them food as they need it.

[28] When you supply it, they gather it. You open your hand to feed them, and they are richly satisfied.

[29] But if you turn away from them, they panic. When you take away their breath, they die and turn again to dust.

[30] When you give them your breath, life is created, and you renew the face of the earth.

[31] May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made!

[32] The earth trembles at his glance; the mountains smoke at his touch.

Reflection . . .

God loves variety and creativity! We see it in all of creation!

God provides for his creation as well! We depend upon Him for all things!

God gives life to all creation! We are renewed by His life-giving breath!

God takes pleasure in all his creation! We are to give Him glory forever!

What a beautiful description of God’s greatness and our dependance on Him! Even though we are often not aware or even reject the fact that we are dependant on Him, we are! Our very breath, sustanance and renewal is all dependant on God’s gracious provision for His creation! These are sufficient reason to give praise and glory to God, yet God’s grace goes further because of our rebellion and sin. God’s love is expressed in the giving of Jesus Christ who took our place, took our sin so that we might know God, experience His salvation and give greater praise to Him!

We praise you Lord for your might.

We praise you Lord for your salvation.

We praise you Lord for your promises.

We praise you Lord because you alone are worthy!
