Isaiah 30:18 NLT
So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.
Reflection . . .
So much of life is about waiting. God’s people in the time of Isaiah knew about waiting and here the Lord tells them the reason for their waiting. We often think of it as a negative experience with lots of frustration and lack of direction. But waiting is a discipline, something we need to learn in order to be humble, wise and mature. Waiting produces patience and character.
This verse tells us that it’s the Lord who must wait on us in order to be able to show us His love and compassion. In His waiting on us, he shows himself faithful.
Have you seen God’s faithfulness in waiting on Him?
Then you have been blessed indeed!
