Reflecting on God’s Word . . .

Psalm 19:7-11 NLT
[7] The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

How precious are all things!

[8] The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living.

[9] Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair.

[10] They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.

[11] They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

Reflection . . .

When we think about all the wonderful things in this world, in our lives and all around us, we can get caught up in worshipping created things instead of the Creator God. God is revealled in creation in so many ways. God is revealed on a daily basis and we just need to realize it.

God has also been revealed throughout history, namely in the person of Jesus Christ who came to redeem us all and the whole world. God’s Word, the Bible is where we find story of such Good News and God’s Word is as the Psalmist says, perfect, trustworthy, right, clear, and more desirable than gold, and sweeter than honey. Reverence for God’s Word is pure and lasting. God’s instructions protect and bring great reward.
